Mira Sytsma provides science communication, content development, and analytics expertise to help global partners understand complex data and craft compelling messages for various audiences.
Since joining Linksbridge in 2020, Mira has served as the technical communications lead for projects including CEPI-commissioned assessments of the potential health and economic impacts of several vaccines and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded reports on foundational aspects of market shaping for global health and the evolution of the field. Mira manages a weekly roundup of pharmaceutical news important to global health and, during the Covid-19 pandemic, led research and content development for a comprehensive weekly update on R&D progress against the disease. Her data-focused projects have involved developing a vaccine introduction date forecasting tool and using machine learning to help create a dataset of market shaping interventions from the last decade.
Mira holds a master’s in wildlife ecology from the University of Washington and a bachelor’s in environmental science from the University of Oregon. A former science communication fellow with Seattle’s Pacific Science Center, she spent several years after graduate school creating interactive science programming for children, including for the Asheville Museum of Science and the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture.
