Linksbridge helped a major foundation develop a business strategy to achieve vaccine price reductions for the world’s poorest countries. Our consultants analyzed the major drivers of weighted average price (WAP) and identified levers for reducing pricing by vaccine and by supplier. We modeled probability-adjusted supply and demand for the vaccines of interest, analyzed potential supplier pricing strategies, and ran a series of simulations to produce hypothetical tender responses. We conducted procurement optimization to identify lowest possible and achievable WAP and worked with teams across the foundation to develop a strategy to meet price targets. Our analysis identified possibilities of substantial savings for the global health community and opportunities to improve access and affordability of key vaccines for the poorest countries of the world.
